Magellan Cares Foundation recognized two organizations with grant awards: The Carter Center’s Mental Health Program and The Multi-Agency Alliance for Children (MAAC). Guests of the Children’s Mental Health Summit had opportunities to visit community organizations in the Ivan Allen III Pavilion at The Carter Center. Community organizations included: Families First, Georgia Appleseed, Georgia Association of Community Service Boards, Georgia Parent Support Network, Unite Us, and Voices for Georgia’s Children.
Ken Fasola delivered the opening keynote address, “A nation’s youth hurts: Magellan responds.”
Ken Fasola explained the purpose of the conference by sharing recent statistics regarding children’s mental health.

During Dr. Carney’s keynote address, guests at the Children’s Mental Health Summit participated in an interactive discussion within the Cecil B. Day Chapel at The Carter Center.
Dr. Carney’s keynote address included discussion about youth suicide ideation.

The Carter Center’s Mental Health Program recognized five Georgia programs as recipients of donations to support mental health initiatives. Two of the Georgia program recipients are greeted by Eve Byrd; Sarah Bess Hudson, Initiatives Director, The Multi-Agency Alliance for Children, holds their certificate.
Ann DiGirolamo, Ph.D., M.P.H., Director of Behavioral Health, Georgia Health Policy Center, delivers a keynote address, “Post-traumatic growth: Supporting the emotional wellbeing of children, families and providers.”
Ann DiGirolamo’s keynote address included discussion about resiliency in families, and children in particular.
